Members and Biographies
Mr. Víctor Zorrilla Vargas is co-founder, President of the Technical Committee and Chief Executive Officer of Fibra Inn, the Advisor as well as of the Hotel Manager. Mr. Víctor Zorrilla Vargas co-founded Hoteles Prisma in 2002 and has more than 30 years of experience acquiring, developing and raising capital to fund real estate projects in the hotel sector.
He has led Hoteles Prisma in the development and operation of select services hotels in Mexico. Mr. Víctor Zorrilla Vargas holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
He is the former chairman of COPARMEX in the State of Nuevo León and former member of its National Executive Committee. COPARMEX is one of the largest and most prominent business organizations in Mexico, representing the country’s leading companies. Mr. Víctor Zorrilla Vargas is also a member of the Board of Directors of Asociación de Hoteles of Nuevo León and past Vice President of the Monterrey Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Joel Zorrilla Vargas is co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Fibra Inn, of the Advizor as well as of our Hotel Manager. He has more than 27 years of experience in the hotel industry and as our Chief Operating Officer, will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our hotel properties.
Under his management, the Hampton Inn properties have been consistently recognized for their excellence and have received several awards, including Promus International Hotel of The Year. Mr. Joel Zorrilla Vargas holds a degree in Industrial Engineering and Systems from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Columbia University in New York City. Mr. Joel Zorrilla Vargas is the president and co-founder of the Monterrey Chapter of the Young Entrepreneurs Organization and a member of the Executive Committees of the Convention and Visitors Bureaus of Monterrey, Saltillo, Torreón, and Ciudad Juárez.
He also is the past President of the IHG Owners Association for the Mexico Region, having served as President from 2011-2012, and was a member of the IHG Owner’s Association Global Board from 2011 to 2012.
Mr. Oscar Eduardo Calvillo Amaya is Chief Financial Officer of Fibra Inn, and is the Chief Financial Officer of our Advisor and Hotel Operator. He also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of our Management Subsidiary.
He has more than 24 years of experience in real estate development and more than 31 years of experience in finance. Mr. Oscar Eduardo Calvillo Amaya is responsible for the financial administration, legal and tax matters, and other activities for the company. Mr. Calvillo graduated from Universidad Autónoma Metroloitana with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He also holds a master’s degree in Business Administration at IPADE and is a member, and former Vice President and Secretary of the Monterey Chapter of Instituto Mexicano de Ejecutivos de Finanzas, whose members include the leading finance executives in Mexico.
Mr. José Gerardo Clariond Reyes-Retana was CEO of Ternium México, S.A. de C.V.. he is also Director of Banco de México, Compaq (México), Club de Industriales and E-México Summit. He has been on the Board of Ternium México, S.A. de C.V. since 1991. He is a Member of Wharton E-fellows Society at University of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Robert Jaime Dotson Castrejón has been General Manager of Grupo Yoli, S.A. de C.V. since 1986. Mr. Dotson Castrejón has been a Member of the Board of Directors of Corporación Actinver, S.A.B. de C.V since 2006. Additionally, he is a Member of the Board of Directors of Actinver Casa de Bolsa, S.A. de C.V., Grupo Financiero Actinver, and Banco Actinver, S.A. Institución de Banca Múltiple, Grupo Financiero Actinver. Mr. Dotson Castrejón holds an actuarial degree from the University of Anáhuac.
Juan Carlos Hernaiz Vigil. Mr. Hernaiz was Founder Associate and one of the main shareholders of Farmacias del Ahorro since 1991 until he sold his ownership in 2010. He was CEO and main shareholder of Grupo Covadonga, one of the most important companies in Mexico dedicated to the breeding, fattening and selling of pigs form 1982 to 2000. Mr. Hernaiz has a degree of Business Administration at Universidad Iberoamericana and holds a MBA at the Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección de Empresas (IPADE) in Mexico City.
Mr. Adrian Jasso has over twenty-four years of experience in investment banking, private equity and operations. Mr. Jasso co-founded and has been a Managing Partner of Indigo Capital, LLC since 1998. Previously, Mr. Jasso was a Vice President in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Capital Markets Latin America groups at J.P. Morgan & Co., in New York, from 1993 to 1998. From 1987 to 1991, Mr. Jasso was co-owner and co-founder of Exem, S.A. de C.V., a 100% U.S. export oriented manufacturing company based in Monterrey, Mexico, later acquired by Xignux (formerly Grupo Axa). From 1983 to 1987, Mr. Jasso worked at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Nagasaki (Japan), SIHI Group/Thyssen in Trappes (France), and Celanese Mexicana. Since 2007, Mr. Jasso has been co-owner and member of the board of NC-based Preferred Service, LLC. Since 2003, Mr. Jasso has been a member of the board of Promotora Ambiental, S.A.B. de C.V. Mr. Jasso graduated from Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) in 1987, with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He earned his MBA with concentration in finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1993 (Ringe Scholar).
Jose Antonio Gomez Aguado de Alba has worked in the financial system since 1988 in several institutions, such as Comermex SNC, Casa de Bolsa Inverlat, Casa de Bolsa Invermexico, Banco Mexicano, Banco Santander, among others. His experience has been developed primarily in the operational and commercial areas related to the financial markets (money, FX, capital and derivatives) and origination in the debt and fixed income capital markets. During this period, he held various positions, among them, as treasurer of Banco Santander from 2004 until 2010; and the Deputy Director of wholesale banking from 2010 until August of 2011. He also managed various committees of the Mexican Banking Association (Asociación Mexicana de Bancos - AMB) and the Mexican Association of Stock Brokers (Asociación Mexicana de Intermediarios Bursátiles), where he was active in the management of the money market and the treasury committees of the AMB during 2000. Currently, he is a consultant for credit institutions, an independent member of Afore Invercap’s investment committee and founding partner of Investia Asesores S.A. de C.V., a company dedicated to financial advisory for companies and other entities of the Mexican financial market. Jose Antonio has a degree in Economics from Universidad Panamericana and has several certificates and specialization programs focused on financial products and business management.
Mr. Federico has been Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer at Grupo Lamosa since 1998, one of the few organizations in Mexico that have been in the market for more than 100 years. He has 30 years of professional experience. He worked at Grupo CYDSA for 13 years and he has been Chief Executive Officer at Ladrillera Monterrey, S.A. since 1992, now Grupo Lamosa.
Mr. Toussaint is a member of the Consejo Mexicano de Hombres de Negocios; as well as a member of the Board of Directors at ALFA, Grupo XIGNUX, Grupo Iconn, University of Monterrey and the Roberto Garza Sada Center. Likewise, he has presided COPARMEX in the state of Nuevo Leon from 2004 to 2005 and the CAINTRA from 2007 to 2009. Currently, he is a nationwide member of COPARMEX.
Mr. Federico Toussaint Elosúa has a degree of Industrial and Systems Engineering of the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey and has a Master´s degree in Business of the IPADE.
Mr. Adrián Garza de la Garza is an independent member of our technical committee and is an investor and financial advisor. He has held several position with various financial institutions, including Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Executive Committee member of IXE Grupo Financiero from 2000 to 2010; Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the north-northeast region of Grupo Financiero Santander Mexicano; Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Banpaís, S.N.C.; and Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors of Casa de Bolsa Banpaís.
From 2005 to 2011 Mr. Garza was member of the Board of Directors and Treasurer of COPARMEX, NL, a business leaders organization and since 1997 he has been a member of the Board of Directors of Cáritas de Monterrey, A.B.P. in various capacities, including as President.
Mr. Rafael Gómez Eng is an independent member of our technical committee. He is the Managing Partner of Growth & Profit Consulting, a firm dedicated to the transformation of small and medium business and family businesses.
Before his retirement as a partner, he worked with KPMG for 35 years in various capacities, including as Director of the northeast region, Executive Committee member and National Director of Marketing. He is a director of several private companies and is a member of the audit committee of several regulated companies. Mr. Gómez is a former President of Colegio de Contadores Públicos de Guadalajara and of the Comisión de Principios de Contabilidad del Instituto Mexicano de Contadores Públicos, or IMCP. He was also representative of the IMCP to the International Accounting Standards Committee.
Additionally, he is a former President of the Instituto Mexicano de Ejecutivos de Finanzas, or IMEF, Grupo Monterrey and currently chairs the Corporate Governance Committee there.
Mr. Everado Elizondo Almaguer is an independent member of our technical committee. He is an economist and a graduate of UANL University of Nuevo León, with graduate studies at the University of Wisconsin and an international taxation certificate from Harvard Law School.
Mr. Elizondo was Director of Economic Studies of Grupo Industrial ALFA and Grupo Financiero Banorte and was Deputy Governor of Banco de México, the central bank. He currently teaches microeconomics and monetary theory at Universidad Tecnológica de Monterrey. He is a columnist for the newspapers “El Norte” and “Reforma,” and is an independent member of the Board of Directors of several companies, including Minera Autlan, Grupo Financiero Banorte, among others.
Mr. Héctor Median Aguiar is an independent member of our technical committee. From 1996 to 2010, he worked as Executive Vice-President of the Finance and Legal Department for Cementos Mexicanos, or CEMEX. Prior to his work with CEMEX, Mr. Median worked at Grupo ALFA. He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Universidad Regiomontana from 2006 until May 2012 and serves as an independent member of the Board of Directors of Banco Ahorro Famsa, AXTEL, and Grupo Cementos de Chihuahua. In addition, he serves also as independent director of a number of private companies.
